Starting your week off staying hydrated.  
 What exactly is dehydration:
​ Dehydration
is a deficit of total body water, with accompanying disruption of metabolic process.
Enough with the technical terms.  Water is one of the MOST important substances we can put in our bodies and we can only go a few days without it.
What does water do for you:
  • Aids in proper circulation of nutrients in the body
  • Regulates body temperature through sweat
  • Flushes out waste and bacteria
  • Prevents headaches- dehydration can be cause headaches
  • Makes your skin glow
  • Reduces joint pain, keeps cartilage soft and hydrated
  • Lose weight- You may think your hungry, when you actually need to drink some water.
  • Staying hydrated can reduce your risk of colon cancer by 45% and bladder cancer by 50%
  • Think clearer- dehydration can make you confused, and grumpy.
  • Perform better- sports, or just exercising
Signs of dehydration;
  • Bad Breath, dry sticky mouth
  • Dry Skin
  • Muscle cramps
  • Food Cravings (especially sweets)
  • Headaches
  • Urine with be noticeably yellow (chardonnay colored) if severely dehydrated your urine will appear orange. 
We know what going without water does, how should we avoid becoming dehydrated:
  • ALWAYS have a bottle of water handy...never leave home without it!
  • Order it with your meals when eating out- opt for water, or sparkling water when dining out in lieu of soda, or diet soda
  • Fruits and vegetables will supply water as well as a dose of vitamins, minerals, and fiber
  • Switch it up with some different unsweetened teas.
How much water is enough?  Women about 12 cups (2.7 liters), men about 15 cups (3.7 liters)
