It's the last Wines-day of October! To celebrate Halloween, the wine that was to be had was Ghost Pines, a Red Blend (of course) . On the back of the bottle reads the tale at how the name came about: In 1964 the Martini family bought 178 acres in easter hills of Napa Valley. The land was developed the land into a vineyard. The name of the vineyard came from the grey pines, which at dusk, appear to hover, with a ghostlike appearance throughout the coastal valleys. The grapes come from multiple counties; 41% Sonoma County, 37% Lake County, and 22% Napa County. Ok, Ok so it isn't some haunted vineyard, or scary tale, but the name is a perfect to celebrate Halloween. Let's get down to the taste. I have to say it is simply awesome, one of the smoothest wines I have had. It is a blend of primarily Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Sirah and Primitivo. Layers of blackberry, blueberry, and brown spice. It is a GREAT way to celebrate Halloween as you pass out candy to the trick or treaters! Price, it was about $22.49 at a local grocery store, and of course cheaper if bought online. A nice sipping wine to pair with your red meat, chocolate, or by its self to enjoy. This is the last Wines-day post for a few weeks! Although I have been enjoying my Tuesday evening glass to sample, I am focusing on my diet and workouts. It was time to switch my workouts up for a month, and it doesn't include alcohol. Wines-day will make it's way back for the holidays!! Raise your wine glass up, and toast to wonderful family, and friends! Cheers! Stay as Fabulous as you are! Emma xoxo Comments are closed.
